Interior Blower Issues

Interior Blowers..

Initially, the blowers were at full power at the second illuminated bar..

So, swapped out the regulator with a new one that lives under dashboard & above the front of the gearbox tunnel.

It gave exactly the same result.

I bought another regulator roday, & this worked properly up & down the rev range, & i drove home 10 miles.
When i got home & switched off the X5, all ignition Off, vehicle locked & closed.....But the blowers remained working & would have flattened the batter rapidly.

I just ordered ANOTHER new regulator... but i am wondering why they keep failing.

This is the 3rd regulator in as many weeks.

Os there possibly a vehicle fault that causes these regulators to fail, are are they possibly just cheap shite regulators ??

Genuine every time on this part.
Sister fitted well my nephew fitted one from ebay and it worked until it got hot enough to melt.
Luckily it fell apart so stopped and didn't set on fire.

Hi Alan, long time no speak.
I hope you are well Sir...

Another Chinese repro regukator arrived today, thst ran for 10 minutes & smoke started coming thru the vents, so that one was not "quite" working.

I know a guy who runs a breakers yard nearby, made the call & 30 minutes later i had a 17yr old OEM Valeo part, works perfectly.... and 2 more duds going back to Amazon.

Many thanks for your input guys.

I’ve got really wary of anything in these on line stores that doesn’t come from a name I know, or a supplier I trust. That ‘shop’ has turned into a wonky sellers paradise. Definitely Caveat Emptor or it’s Wallet Empty. Even if you try to tell the truth with a review, they then come back with something that smells like a bribe to take it down again. I even had one ‘store’ phone me to offer an inducement to change my comment. They are no longer a Seller on that Emporium as that was a very serious breach of trust, privacy and the Emporium’s rules.

Glad you found a good used one though
