Cleaning the car and tried something different!

Post by tombs » Fri Apr 29, 2011 8:36 am

Us blokes are creatures of habit and for years I've been using Meguiars products to clean my car. For the initial shampoo stage I normally use Meguiars gold shampoo and I find it's a very good product, leaves a slightly waxed finish to the car. So I run out to clean our A3 (X5 will get shown soon, just want to get it sorted before showing her off!) and noticed I'd used up all my Meguiars gold shampoo, working in the car magazine world I often get stuff sent to me to use but as I stated earlier on I don't tend to change what I use as I have been happy and in general most of the products I get sent from car care/cleaning companies very rarely actually do what it says on the tin. Recently I'd been sent a bottle of Smartwax shampoo and I'd seen these guys at various car shows so thought I'd give the product ago. I have to say I'm really impressed, a few squirts of this product into a bucket produces a really frothy bucket of suds which looks the part, it covers the car easily but it's the finish that's really impressive. This product leaves the car with a brillant glossy shiny finish, more so than any other product I've used in the past. I'd recommend this product because the finish from just the wash alone is good enough for a "show car" like look. It's great for both detailers and those who just wash their cars and dont want to fuss with clay bar kits and waxing etc. Just like to point out I don't work for Smartwax nor have any affiliation with this company, I just like to give credit where it's due!

Although I look after my cars its difficult living in a tree lined road to keep them cleaned, our A3 was filthy! All I did was jet wash the excess crap of, wash with the smart wax shampoo using a grit guard bucket and Meguiars lambswool mitt and then dry with a Terry Towel, thats why I thought this product was good as it produced this finish with a simple wash!
