The passenger airbag warning has just started to illuminate (nr the reading light) when I turn on the ignition saying "passenger airbag is deactivated" I have tried to re-activate it with the key but it still says deactivated! Anybody know what might be the cause?
Thanks in advance

Switch within the key unit failed most likely. Try moving it with the key a few times (ignition off!) to see if it will clear - as in dirty contact. Otherwise you’ll need to get to it and see if it (a) does work, or (b) the wiring isn’t plugged in quite right. You’ll need a meter to test switch continuity but ONLY after you have disconnected the plug from the switch unit.
I’ve found the change process (looks like a LHD car so just mirror it for RHD). Note that you MUST fully disconnect the battery and wait a few minutes for energy to dissipate before disconnecting the switch itself. If you don’t it might go bang (very low risk but it kinda hurts if it does) or most likely bring a warning light on that needs resetting with software/scanner etc.

You’ll probably fund the power windows and sunroof (if fitted) will need resetting too due to the battery being off.
F03 is on the battery as you probably have IBS fitted. Basically all cables off
