Hi all,

Does anyone have a solution for allowing luggage to be stacked higher than the retractable roller?
We're going away in the summer and will need to fill the boot, probably to the roofline, so I'd like some way of stopping items from flying forwards if I need to brake hard.
Is there a more elegant solution other than a generic dog guard?

You will probably want something like this, had one is my discovery prior to the x5 and it worked very well.

Not to say that many will still be complete, didn't all E53s come with a cargo net? Mine did, it only ever gathered thicker dust in the garage.

A pity they weren't standard equipment going forward :(

The only one listed against the F15 fits behind the first row of seats. There’s nothing listed on RealOEM for further back that I can see.

Try putting the last 7 of your VIN into the ‘Serial Number’ box to pull up the right model. If there’s anything there it will be in the Retrofittings section.

LloydBmwcockermouth, are listing this one on their eBay page, which is more of a full guard. It may or may not be suitable as it appears to use the isofix fixings in the rear of the back seats

Thanks all, even the genuine BMW option looks a bit of an afterthought :|

It's going to be so rarely used I'll look at the cheaper options first I think. More importantly will be the size of the thing to store in the garage for 50 weeks of the year...

You can quite often pick up a used travall ones on the forums or on eBay, think I paid £60 for the one for the discovery and sold it for £60 when I changed to the X5, but haven’t bothered with one for the x5 fp so far

Just to close this off, I bought a cheap ebay one for £21.99 and after some trial and error, then bought some longer bolts (also from ebay - £1.30) as the head rest posts are too far away from the grille to reach with the included bolts.
Worked a treat for our week in France and is now taking up space in the garage as expected
