Not possible on the X Paul - the signal strength on the iPhone is not enough for the car...

And make sure the TV out signal is set to PAL not NTSC. What's the USB connection for? My Apple lead has Yellow (Video), Red (R.Audio) and White (L.Audio). I'm guessing the USB port is for charging?

Your TV connections should all be to 'Video In' on the TV or video deck.

For the iPhone 4 - Settings>iPod> Scroll to the bottom of the options list> Widescreen 'On' and TV Signal 'PAL'

I have a similar cable which goes straight into the AV Amplifier and it works fine on that. Not tried it on the 'X'.

I just did a google search on "Firmware 2.21"
It's possible it could be the firmware requirements for the iphone.
Looks like it should work with firmware 2.21 and above.

Is firmware a legal copy or does it need to be jailbroke? How can i tell what firmware i have on mine?

Many thanks
Paul

I don't know which firmware it refers to. That symbol indicates 'Less than or Equal to'. To me that means it's designed for a firmware version of 2.21 or earlier. If the symbol was reversed then it requires Version 2.21 or later. It could be an error on the label, or it could be designed for ipods not iphones?

If you have an iphone 4 you'll be using higher than 2.21 I think 2.21 was on the 3G.

How to check iPhone firmware version
Press the Settings from your iPhone SpringBoard to launch Settings Menu.
Press General from Settings Menu
Now go to About from General Menu
Under about screen you can check iPhone firmware version under Version Label
