Xseries-forum, the moderators and staff cannot accept any liability for any losses incurred from the use of the marketplace forums. If you are a victim of any activity you feel is illegal then please report this to the moderators who will endeavour to help you.
Anyone deliberately defrauding other members will be dealt with severely. We encourage defrauded members to seek assistance from the police and we will actively assist the police to secure a conviction.
Advertising stolen goods or pirated movies/games/software (including copied Navigation DVD's) will result in an instant and permanent forum ban.
General Rules
You may only sell personally owned items which are legal to sell
Pro-traders are prohibited from using our marketplace
Profiteering:
Items must not be sold for more than the original price paid by the seller including any post and packing charges.
There are exceptional circumstances where common sense needs to be applied to the profiteering rules. E.g.
- selling an item that was given free with another retail purchase or contract
- selling an item received through a work incentive or birthday/Xmas present
- adding P&P when forwarding a brand new shop bought bargain
You must include a price in your for sale post
You cannot increase your asking price
You must include the P&P charge to UK. If not stated separately it will be assumed that it's included in your asking price
Imported (non-UK) goods must have their country of origin stated
Accepted payment methods must be stated
Describe the goods accurately. Be honest. If you misrepresent the condition or history of the goods, then the purchaser is within their rights to demand a partial refund or a return of the goods at your expense
Once a deal is made, please prefix the subject with "SOLD:"
Negotiation
All members must be able to visit the forum to deal with their sales roughly on a work-daily basis to respond to questions/offers etc. (i.e. every day or two). You will not be expected to visit weekends and this will be taken into account if there is a delay in your responding
All discussions including offers, acceptances and refusals should be shown clearly in the thread (not by email or PM). Once a deal is agreed you may use whatever form of external communication you like to finalise payment details etc. We insist on this rule because we need to see all the negotiations to be able to mediate a solution to a dispute
You cannot make a higher offer to gazump after a deal has been agreed
You should only make an offer for an item when you have the funds to pay for it. The seller may agree to wait for payment but this should be discussed in the thread with the seller and they are entitled to refuse.
If a vendor reduces the price for a potential purchaser, that price becomes the new asking price for all. However, the item is reserved for that potential purchaser for 1 hour to accept that offer before others can buy it at the new price. (This is known as 'the one hour rule'.)
The first unconditional offer of the asking price secures the sale
Once a deal has been agreed or an unconditional asking price offer made, you may not withdraw from it without a very good reason. You will need to PM a moderator with an explanation but the moderators still reserve the right to impose a short trading ban.
You may only bump your thread 10 hours after the last post.
You may only post normal trading dialogue in classified threads.
To ensure the seller is asking a fair price you may post information on where it is available new and in stock, direct from a retailer or a link to a similar sale. Comments on price should be backed up.
