Howdy folks, as the title suggests I am selling my Franklin bush tool since I no longer have any use for it.

The tool was purchased a couple of months ago and since I have just finished replacing all four bushes on my 2001 E53 it needs a new home.

Original cost £200 but as I have saved a few quid doing the job myself I'll take offers over £100 plus postage.

I will add the car is completely different now done and well worth the initial investment.

The tool also comes in a plastic case for protection against corrosion etc, I have also recoated it in light oil.

PM me for any additional info or to make an offer.

Located in Essex if you want to collect.

Many thanks
Gareth

Another thought, I would be happy to offer my services to swap out anyone's E53 subframe bushes for a nominal fee ;)

The task is a two knuckle rating, plus a tendon and optional scuff, backache inclusive.

If you imagine working on an average family car and double it you're getting close.... 4 hours should see it done.

There is a thread that suggests the E53 should be considered for an exchange of the aforementioned bushes at around 50k onwards, mine is at 78 and the parts literally fell out in a pile of dust.

I can't tell you how it feels now other than to say it's easy to get used to the way your car 'is' until something significant like this is done.

Excellent.

Can I make a slightly left wing suggestion?

Rather than sell the tool, you could hire it to members for a nominal fee?
Just a thought.

Might help a few out.

Thanks guys, the option to hire unfortunately isn't practical as I spend half the year abroad.

I've had one offer so far to buy it, I'll give it a couple of days before deciding.

Cheers.

That's Good to know Lez, I'll bear that in mind as I'm sure mine will need doing at some point. :-)

Lex, out of interest how much do you charge for hire?. I ask as I will probably require this myself at some point.
