How's yours attached?

Mine was on d/s tape direct but never looked right on the bottom corners. So i ordered a 'genuine' Chinese made plate carrier, the type that leaves the VIN number visible, and of course its the wrong size for UK plates :|

I've trimmed it, fixed it with supplied screws and tape fixed the plate to it. The bottom corners no longer touch the bodywork but its still awkward looking imo. What does everyone do? Wondered if one of the surrounds with BMW logo was the way to go?

3M ‘VHB’ tape used on all of ours. Plates all heated and slightly bent before final fitting the keep them closer to the bodywork. IMHO it’s just a number plate and necessary evil. Not bothered about it looking really good or not, but just hate screw fittings.

The bottom corners were resting on the body which looked odd.

I bought one of these, a version of which is offered by BMW, though for silly money of course.

The one i received was almost 140mm deep though, rather more than a UK plate. Trimming required as i noted. Perhaps the OE versions were applied automatically, but hadn't been on my car.

I like that idea, heating them slightly :D
