Hi all,
i havent been able to find any information on this so far so basicly
the right side electric boot strut died on me a few months ago and i have been opening and closing the boot ever since by just lifting it up and down.
The price to replace it is just far too much for me is it possible to use a gas strut in its place?
IF it is possible do i have to replace both arms with gas struts or can i get away with one?
any help is appreciated
Cheers
Btw its a 2015 model

Tailgate strut electric to gas
Re: Tailgate strut electric to gas
Item no8 here: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showpa ... Id=41_2120
Should really be a pair in order to avoid uneven tension that might cause a twist and break the rear screen by accident. About $80 plus delivery from Latvia if you want. . BMW GB will want a lot more (like always!). There may be an equivalent pattern part too so worth a look.
RealOEM is a current on line copy of the BMW Parts database. Use the last 7 of your VIN to pull up your model. The struts are under ‘Bodywork’.

Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.
