Oil Service Light

When you start your x5 should the display with the 5 bars for the oil service disapear after a few seconds if it does not do it on yours is there any reason why it does it on mine.

Yep mine goes out after a few secs. Not sure why yours does not :(

Yes it goes out, perfectly normal.

It is just an indicator for before you start your journey so no need for it to be illuminated all the time.
