Dog guard

Just bought a 2005 car and looking for a dog guard. Plenty for sale for newer cars, does anyone know if they would fit or does it need to be model specific?

Hi car specific I have a Travall dog guard very easy to fit and remove when needed , just make sure it says E53 for your car BMW do them also .
