Hi everyone.
My names Craig & I live in north Devon. Bought my wife a 2004 3.0i Sport over the weekend,now on the door pillar is supposed to be the tyre pressures,unfortunately on mine it’s not there? Now on mine I have 235/50/18’s all round,but after a search online I can only find pressure for 235/50/18’s on the front with 255/45/18’s?
Don’t like to put two questions on the same thread,but just another quick question,it came with 2 keys,but only one works and it has to be recharged or something?

If the label is missing from either of the B-pillars and not under the bonnet, the question is why? Has the car had a spray job done which meant it needed removing?

Is the key correctly coded to the car? It may just need redoing. The procedure is on the Forum somewhere.
The key battery is normally kept charged by an inductive ring around the ignition switch. If it’s dead (possible after 16 years) then replacing the battery is most likely to be the solution. It’s not an easy job as a certain amount of ‘key surgery’ is required.
There are videos on Utube showing how. The (expensive) alternative is a replacement from BMW, but be prepared to have your wallet spanked!
Tyres:
1. If you have different sized tyres (a staggered set up) then pay close attention to the type of tyre (it should be ‘*’ marked in the sidewall to indicate suitable for BMW and the tread depth difference less that 1.5mm front to rear. The E83 - along with most X-cars - is very sensitive to wring tyre choice and can (and unfortunately has) resulted in broken transfer boxes or diffs.
2. If you have the same sized tyres (a square setup) all around this is far far less of an issue as the rolling radius will match, not need matching which is one reason for the ‘*’ mark in the first place. You just need to monitor the tread depth difference as above.
