Alarm went off by itself?

Hi,

So at 4.30am this morning the alarm in my X6 decided to go off, used key to disarm the alarm but nothing happened, went in the car and placed key in ignition, still going off, tried starting car and driving, still going off? Once back on the drive and car unlocked; it stops?

Any ideas what caused this, is there a bonnet sensor on the E71 ?

Bonnet open sensor is part of the right hand bonnet lock. I think it is what triggers the alarm as I’ve not seen a switch like the E53 had anywhere.
