4.6is genuine BMW alloys for sale [SOLD]

I've spoken to admin about a newbie (though don't regard myself as one) posting a sale so early but i'd like to sell these as i need the space, and someone may want to buy, therefore satisfying both needs.

A set of genuine Type 87 alloys just removed from my car. These were refurbed by Lepsons a while ago in 'original' BMW silver. The tyres went through an MOT two weeks ago, The have all worn as usual according to my local tyre emporium, i.e. the centres are lower than the outer edges, the fronts have c3mm in the centres, rather more on the outside edges. The rears have c2mm in the centres all measured from the TWI. They have a good few thousand miles to go yet. The rims are near mint aside from some paint loss, though not curb damage to one front rim. The centre caps are not wonderful but you can swap your existing ones of course :)

I live in East Sussex and would like, i think, a very reasonable £600 firm collected. Some pictures for your viewing.

Hi, nice set. If not kerb damage how did the paint coming off occur??

I wish i knew. Just the paint in missing as seen. It appears to have rubbed off but the tyre and rim are unmarked. You can see on the right side how it seems to have peeled away. One things for sure, Lepsons put plenty of paint on them! I suppose it's conceivable it was the very lightest of contacts but like i said, there is no grazing or roughness to the wheel itself. I don't have an explanation, merely a theory.

Do you want to buy them?

No thanks, I'm booked into Lepsons to have my wheels refurbed, concerned to see that happening if they've been refurbed by them. Good luck with the sale.

Do Lepsons remove the tyre to carry out a refurb? This could explain why the paint has blown on the edges of the rim...

Nice wheels though and I would seriously consider if I could get a set of Winter Tyres to fit... that way I can keep my 20's for the summer.

Lepsons strip the wheels completely and refit everything after the new paint job. Maybe when re-assembled a tad too much pressure was used in some way? It was well over a year before the paint went and it never lost any more.

If i could locate any 20" winter tyres, they wouldn't be for sale :D

Pirelli Ice & Snow do 20's that will go on the fronts and would stretch on the rears but I'm not keen on that idea. I would rather have 4 fronts or just buy the replicas for winter... they are a great wheel to have as they are easy to clean in the winter getting all that salt and crap off!

That's the problem getting something for the rears. I wouldn't be keen on stretching a 275 out to a 315 on the rear rim and i woudn't buy a rep set of 9.5" all round when i have a genuine wheel set in the garage. In an ideal world i'd swap my two rears with two fronts, problem solved.

But that's easier said than done i think!

The rears are the rare ones to get hold of! I wouldn't do that either...

Toyo do the perfect tyres for our size rims but unfortunately only in the US... I emailed them once and they said the reason was because they don't meet EU regulations??

I wish there was an answer because the 4.6is Wheels are lovely and like I said earlier they would be really easy to maintain in the winter...

Hi. I'm at completely the opposite end of the country (as in hebrides on the west coast of scotlands!) and am considering making you an offer but only if you would be interested in packing the wheels up so i can arrange a courier to pick them up. How would you feel about that?
