I recently replaced the two rear suspension airbags as they were leaking slowly overnight. Initially all was well for two days until when driving I noticed the ride very bumpy. The ns rear bag was empty and not filling.
I ran Carly diagnostic which highlighted a fault with the ns rear level sensor. I have tried removing the plug and checking the wiring. I also removed the plastic arm allowing manual movement of the sensor simulating different vehicle heights, but to no avail.
I have had a look on realoem but cannot find a part number to source a replacement online. Has anyone done this before?

Re: E70 40d rear level sensor
Its a Sept 2010 LCI. I did see that but it states headlight level sensor rather than ride height for suspension. Does this sensor do both?

Re: E70 40d rear level sensor
In that case it’s part #7 as that refers to the self-levelling option.
The service diagram in newtis says....
https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e70- ... s/1M8Qp9nT
System diagram shows...
https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e70- ... s/1MF8ZcRP
... and Realoem says there’s two of them. BMW are really good at putting parts in odd(ish) slides that don’t make immediate sense..
If you’ve not come across newtis.info it’s a copy of the Dealer Tech Instr on line and really useful.

Latest part number (both sides are the same) is...
https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/part?i ... 7146853753
37146853753
Same part number shows up for headlight and suspension. Anywhere between £32 and about £66 depending upon OEM or copy.

Thanks for that
Re: E70 40d rear level sensor
Just to close the thread as I have now resolved the issue.
It transpires that the level sensor was not at fault, it was a broken wire in the loom leading to the plug at the sensor. It was not at all obvious and only clearly seen when the tape was peeled back. Just in case anyone else suffers similar issues.
