Bit of a weird one...
Driving this evening with my xenon headlights on, stopped at traffic lights and I noticed them turn off. Started to move and they came back on again. This happened a few times, and then it was all fine..
Weird..
I had the switch on auto, so turned to manual on, and the symptoms carried on for a few times. Mainly when I was stopping at traffic lights, and then back on again when I got moving again. Angel eyes unaffected, just the main headlights.
Anyone had similar issues and identified a root cause?

Check your battery voltage....from the cig socket, engine not running should read anywhere between 12.2V up to 12.8V ,anything below 12V ......your battery is on its way out...

Battery as above, or alternator not keeping up. If you are only doing short journeys then your battery will not fully recharge. BMWs have ‘load shedding’ electrics and some systems may get switched off to keep the engine going.
Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.
