Ok i will answer my own question, this place charged me £24 plus VAT for the filter, and if I needed the gearbox rebuilt it would be about £1600
I will see how far I get before I spend that much money, :driving: X feels as good as new :driving:

Good Luck - I must advise you that all experts I have spoken to state that it is crucial for the change to be peformed when box within a specific temp range. Hopefully this info not too late for you.

Done 2 changes, one when the gearbox was cold, and one when the gearbox was hot, both times the gearbox worked very well afterwards :|
I don't know how long it is going to last before needing a rebuild, but I must say it is running beautifully, even the MPG has gone up by 2 miles :o
The bottom of the oil sump was full of a brown thick mud like substance and the car did not move at all, so any oil change regardless of temperature has got to be better in that situation

I have now nearly done 1200 miles since the second ATF change and the gearbox is still working great :o
considering I had no gears whatsoever I can't recommend it enough. change the oil in your gearbox
