Needs a code read methinks, Any signs of fluid loss? Just wondering if it has got low and won’t come out of gear properly. Might be an engine ECU issue as well but not sure which bit, hence you need an error code check. Nothing on the dash I take it?

Did they disturb something.....? If it was fine until they played then I might be tempted to go back and say Oi!

From memory it’s the EGS module you need to be reading. Does ISTA call data from there, or is that INPA? I can’t remember which bits can see what modules
It could be a number of things from low fluid up to more serious Mechatronics faults, torque converter clutch having a bad day, or a single solenoid, solenoid spring in the Mech U. Only BMW tools (which ISTA is can read the codes apparently.
