Hi, can anyone tell me how to have DRL on automatically, do I need to get a mechanic to put them on via a laptop, cheers.

If it can be done on that model and year then it is a coding change. I have never (yet) seen an E83 with factory DRLs though there is (was?) a retrofit kit made by Philips and available through Dealers that required LED strips to be fitted to the front bumper.

They only became mandatory on new models in 2011 though some got them a year or two earlier if the manufacturer chose to fit and enable them.

I have activated this with PASoft, it's not DRL's as such, but headlights and tail lights are automatically on when engine is running.
