Engine shudder

My 2009 3.0d developed a shudder on switching off, the EML also lit up so I applied the Carly and found an error with the throttle valve positioner. I removed the throttle valve body but didn't find anything wrong initially until I searched for a new throttle body (cost was around £200 with delivery) and realised that a component part of the electronic controller was available and showed me that what I thought was ok was actually worn.
The gear wheel cost me about £33 with postage from Germany, much less expensive than the whole throttle body but a fiver would have been more realistic (3D printer anybody :) )

Plastic gear just slides off, initially the wear was so uniform I thought that was part of the design!

That’s a bit of a result :D

The smaller pinion looks worn too. Can you get hold of both, or just the larger?

3D printers could solve a lot of these sorts of opportunities. I haven’t tried Nylon through mine yet but it is food for thought, especially given the CAD packages for designing these parts can be absolutely free even for the full version as long as you earn less than $100,000 a year from your printer.

How did you find that you could get that part?

Cheers guys,
I thought I'd like to give something back to the forum, regarding the part I scrolled down from the throttle body entry (eBay) and having already removed it once recognised the part which I needed. I'm sure I saw both the pinion and wheel also in brass?
