None sponsor this Forum. I use Direct Line for our cover. They don’t offer Multi Car as a package but do offer discounts for having multiple policies with them.

Been with Bell / Admiral for the last 11 years. Always been reasonable on their pricing and have been easy to deal with. I have a multicar policy now too.

I have recently moved from an e53 to a e70 40d and got a shock on renewal. It has gone from £280 to £566! I am 50 with full no claims dicount so my affair with this car may be short lived.

This time last year, when I bought my F25, the insurance was just south of £300. I had a claim for storm damage (total cost £1100) last September, and this year my premium is £425. I'm with LV and I'm 61.

It's all irrelevant, though, because insurance providers are a law unto themselves. The bloke next door to me could insure my car with the same company and the premium could be £100s different.

Moral of this thread?............. Shop around.

I am an old fart and with saga.
I had my e46 320d at the time paying around £130 for me and her and i bought myself an e53 as a bit of a toy.
Phoned saga only to be told no multi-car to be had but but they would mirror my ncd and quoted me £150.?? winner or what.
It was still around £155 this January for renewal.
My sister has an e46 320d and is 3 years older than me but saga quote her silly prices and she to lives on Anglesey like me.
As said shop around.

I wouldn't be giving up on a car for £286 insurance cost. Shop around and get a better deal?

I had a 4.8is E53 with three drivers and 14 years NCB - £380. I added an F10 M5 with 0 years NCB and this pushed the total premium up to £455 - Makes no sense does it.

I was with Admiral for years too and only paying about £250 for my 330d but they wanted £910 for my x5 e70 at renewal which was a bit much :o I had quotes before I bought it for nearer £600 from them 6 months before , got a local company for £720 so maybe admiral has had a bad year and is trying to claw some money back !

I was with eSure for my 330d. IIRC the last year I insured it the price was <£270. When I bought the F25 they wanted over £700. I went back to LV (who I had been with when I had an E30 the previous decade) because they quoted less than £300 for the X3 for virtually the same cover. My premium has only gone over £400 this year because I made a claim for storm damage last autumn.

As I posted above, insurers are a law unto themselves. There's never any rhyme or reason to the quotes they issue.
