Hi folks newbie here please go easy on me lol
So I have a friends x5 2003 3.0ltr petrol with a misfire
It happens when the car gets a wee bit warmer it’s not there right from start up.
When it misfires if you turn the engine off and straight back on it goes away for about a minute then comes back on
I done a quick service and changed the plugs but it’s still the same
I have attached a screen shot of the diagnostics codes the car has
Any pointers would be appreciated

You really need to use a BMW compatible code reader as the generic codes don’t really help.

It could be the airflow sensor, O2 sensors, a bad injector, wiring to (or) a coil pack, fuel pressure, bad fuel filter. The list goes on.

Ok
Was kinda hoping someone might have had a similar issue in the past and could point me in the way of it
Is there a bmw level diagnostic on eBay that anyone has that’s they would recommend?....

INPA is good and not that expensive.

Mine did exactly that and it as a couple of split pipes. The intake pipe down below the inlet manifold and th pipe under the top cover. It is normally covered in insulation as well to make matters worse. I had both changed it cured the misfire.

Mine would only start to misfire after a while at ideal. Like yours, if I turned it off and immediately on again it would stop misfiring.

Thanks for the advice
I will look at the diagnostic
And look at the pipes around the engine to try and find a split
Appreciated folks thank you
