Be careful when buying a used BMW, Merc etc, my bro bought a car about a year old from a dealership, but after a year of ownership had some issues with warning lights etc, took it to dealership and they did a full scan and found a can blocker fitted. Was a PCP lease before bro bought it from dealership.

After solicitors involvement, original dealership owned up that mileage was flagged before selling, but they trusted the original owner... Car now returned to original dealership and they wanted to keep it hush hush and paid original cost plus compo.

So be very careful when buying used and especially it was previously a lease car

I wonder how many Dealers would allow prospective buyers to tun something like Carly over a car they had for sale just to make sure there aren’t any hidden nasties.

How do you find a ‘CAN blocker’? The lease company should be dealt with formally too - it at least informed of the findings. DVSA certainly need telling about it.
