DVD

Hi all I have a E70 35d 2009 when I flick though the entertainment menu it comes up with dvd ,so I have the single player above the sat nav ccc I also have the 6 disk CD player in glove box and aux also so blue tooth what I would like to know when I click on the dvd high lighted what does it play format and which slot do I put the disk in I have tried dvd disks but they don’t play am I doing something wrong !
