Hi Everyone,

Bit of an emergency!!

Just bought a 2006 BMW X3 2.0D manual.

Seemed fine on its first drive back home.

But just started it today and I could smell a strong burning dirty smell in the cabin. Not sure why it's started now. Just done a 200mile journey in it to London as I had other choice and when I stopped at services, again I could smell a strong smell. Just got this car so don't know much about typical issues with it. Anyone got any ideas or tips on how to diagnose it.

Maybe a cracked manifold my brother as the same problem (he’s got a e53) as been diagnosed as that.

Close this thread as a bigger issues has come about. Will post a thread about it soon for advoce.
