On Saturday, I went and had a look at a 2009 (59) 3.0d M sport in Grey. It drove ok I think, but not driven any others X5 for a comparison .
It has allegedly full service history and only 62000 miles, according to the mot history that appears to check out, I do believe that it has the old problem of cutting the rear tyres out as it was on as advisories for a couple of mot.
Is the rear tyre issue the reason for 5 owners or am i thinking too much about nothing and i should buy it??? Or keep looking??

Id say they change owners regularly due to high running costs more than anything else ,62k seems very low might have been a lot of town driving which these cars don't really like as they have particulate filters and its still near 10 years old so I wouldn't b paying a big premium for the mileage alone and it would need to be in superb condition to justify any price increase.
I hear increasing the rear tyre pressure helps reduce the edge wear a bit

Thanks, the other thing that's troubling me is that the dealer will only give me 30 days warranty on the engine and gearbox only

Seems a bit mean and any aftermarket warranty will most likely have an exclusion period for claims for at least a month or so , I wouldn't expect trouble from either with so low miles ,mine had more than twice that on it when i bought it !

every x5 I liked the look of on autotrader, i mot checked and everyone had worn inner rear tyres as an advisory at least one time in it's life so I wouldnt worry about that.
does it have a good spec?
