Heater Control panel not working when cold outside

I have a weird problem which I have been researching with little joy. The heater control panel stays blank when turning on, however after 5 minutes it starts blinking and doing all sorts ( usually full cold full fan) before settling down and then working fine. No battery drain, no working when off ( to my knowledge). Gets a lot worse when the ambient temp is low outside.. have changed the fsr, no different... any thoughts before I get a replacement control panel? Thanks!!!

Had more or less the same symptoms did the same thing, changed FSR. Replacement control panel sorted everything. Like me you now have a spare FSR. Pity there’s no one out there that can repair the control panel.

Ha.. agreed would be awesome! Will source one and get at it.. will be ok if off diesel not petrol? Coding does not seem to be an issue if same fuel type but just checking! Thanks for your help, much obliged as getting dangerous when cannot clear windows!

Can’t really answer as you haven’t listed your vehicle but if pre facelift then the same panel is listed for petrol and diesel.
