New owner saying hi

Post by X5rob » Mon Nov 19, 2018 11:07 am

Hello all.
I bought my e53 3.0i x5 back in March off a mate who made me an offer I couldn’t refuse . It had been stood over 3 years so Iv had some teething probs to sort out full suspension rebuilt on front , 4 new tyres , new track rods as old ones rusted solid. Clock and obc refurbished as pixelated. New battery. Then at weekend fun stuff done CD player replace tape . Aux input with Bluetooth for oe+ plus then swapped the steering wheel for e46 sport wheel and fitted genuine bmw xenons . Very happy with her now .

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Glad your managing to get her back in the road again.

Looking the rear suspension looks a little low in the pic. Most have air susp on the rear so maybe worth checking if the pumps running okay and there is no leak from the airbags,

I think the trick for checking on the airbags if nothing visible was to put washing up liquid over them that way you can see the bubbles

Hi Rob,

Welcome along and well done for putting her back on the road, it would have been a shame to see the X just fade away.

Welcome from another E53 3.0i owner. :hi:

Mine was also at a price that couldn't be refused and needed a little work. I bought mine in March this year and put it on the road in June.

I agree with the other poster here that the back end looks a little low.

What mpg are you seeing currently from it? Mine is up to 16.4 so far.
