I was so close to buying an 04 range rover vogue 4.4 today.. I was going to view another X5 but it got sold so the RR was next.
I know it's basically an X5 underneath with worse mpg and worse reliability but I left it and came home.
Dodged a bullet there I think..

				Eh up,
Been there done that .......never again!
There’s always good and bad on anything but RR are a costly item new or used, lovely car all the same.
Good luck with the search

The next car I was going to see after the x5 was a 2007 RR sport tdv8 too ,given the x5 only just managed 27 mpg with mixed driving the RR must be about 20 mpg at best , great machine though

They only put mirrors on a RR, so you can see what has dropped off....

That's so mean to talk about RR in such a way. Could you not be a tiny bit kinder to them.
V8 petrol rocks.

				I am currently driving a 2005 RRS 4.4 V8 (not a bmw engine).
It needed some attention to brakes when I got it earier this year....Today I am having a recon alternator fitted as the original item has been a little noisy in the last week.
Other than that it's been more reliable than my 4.4i E53.

....I never tempted fate with my X5 but still spent thousands fixing/sorting various issues.
I avoided the SC as they all have ARC roll bars which can be costly to fix/replace.
Mpg not hideous if warmed up and 28-30 achievable taking it easy on longer run.
Superb over uneven terrain.
Sat nav on pre facelift a bit painful  in use and to the eye.
As with the X5......can cause insomnia if you worry about what might go wrong.
Aternator swap sorted for £250 (recon exchange denso unit under £100 plus 3 hours labour with someone who takes care of me).
