Hi folks,
My heater blower seems to have come to a sudden stop,...the usual slight squeel from low speeds then suddenly it didnt work at all.
I have changed the FSR (hedgehog) but it just heats up when I try the blower on full power to try to kick it away.
I see you can access these heaters from engine bulkhead on an X3 and wondered if its possible to do that with the E53 ?
I was going to take off the inlet pipes on the bulkhead and see if I could reach in and spin it by hand just to re-assure myself its totally gone before I spend a day taking my whole dashboard off.
Cheers,
Jonny.

i think its a dashboard out job to get to the motor.
where the hedgehog sits, its possible to get a screwdriver in and spin the blower blades to see if its seized.

Hi,
I took out the pollen cab filter on the engine bulkhead,....gently put a piece of fencewire down with a bend 4" from the end.
Could feel the fan vanes,...gave them a wee twirl and the heater seems to be working again ( for the time being)..
Cheers.

Try opening all of the vents and carefully blowing through with gas from a can of air. Might blow some gunk out and help the situation.
