Picked up an X3 (E83) today and been having a play with toys and gadgets. Paired up my old Samsung S6 and made a handsfree call without problem. However, I cannot fathom how to play music via the Aux selection on menu of BMW Business CD. What am I missing guys?

That functionality appeared much later on and I’m not certain what year (if any) that the E83 X3 got it. The X5 and newer didn’t get it until 2010/11 model years (E70/71). It was also an additional option on top of the normal Bluetooth you needed enhanced to get BT streaming.

That explains it, I'll stop looking know. thanks.
That brings another question to mind, Why is there an AUX option on radio if no way to connect an AUX device?

On my E83 X3 the aux jack plug was accessed via the jack plug socket in the rear of the centre console, sit in the back seats to get a better look.
Seem to remember it was behind a flap.
Mine was a 3.0 d Msport 2009

Yes, that's exactly the layout in my 2009 X3 too, rear end of centre console, push flap to open, reveals cigarette lighter and aux in socket.

Same in my 2007 2.0d, flap at back of the centre console.
To add BT, I ended up spending £30 to buy a FireFly from Amazon. Brilliant little gadget, USB on one end, aux on the other, get yourself a bullet ciggy usb charger for 99p from the petrol station to go with it and you have hassle free bluetooth in minutes.
