I have just purchased a used face-lift E53. 2005.
Apart from the odd little niggles here and there I seem to have a reoccurring issue with the front o/s headlight unit.
The dash system alerts to dipped/main and park issue and all lights on the o/s headlight stop working.
The car is fitted with the halogen headlights which are self leveling. Swapped bulbs and they are fine and it's not a dry connection in the plug. Fiddled with it a few times then it worked OK again with no fault warning.
It did the same the next day. I have tried clearing the fault code with my carly unit I have which works for a short while (1 day max) but it then stops working again.
I know looking through other threads there are issues with the factory xenons but mine are halogen standard bulbs.
Any help much appreciated.
