ebay suspension kits?

Post by bascule » Tue Aug 28, 2018 11:51 am

Anyone bought one of these types of kits?

On the face of it they appear to be very good value indeed. In a past life I bought a kit like this for an Audi A6 I used to have, and that was great, but I'm keen to know if anyone has bought one of these for a E53, and specifically which one!

If your not hung up on fitting OEM stuff on your 15 plus year old car then this stuff is fine. Your going to get 40k miles out of it at least and at 10k a year it’s costing £30 a year. It’s always going to feel better if replacing tired old stuff and always better to replace everything. I haven’t looked at prices but the people with the reputations are Feb/Bilsteini  Lemforder Mayle and at a guess twice the price but they are OEM suppliers.

Yeah, I fitted a set like this a few months back - all OK & did the job well.

Note that: many of these parts kits come from just a small bunch of suppliers, who will generally re-brand the parts for OEM's & different distribution motor-factor chains.
I know this because I've worked for several auto parts manufacturers.

This particular kit, I fitted to my D-Sport with no problems.

I put one on the rear of mine 2 yrs ago. All the bits for the back end cost about £100 I think. No probs so far.

You're all gentlemen. Appreciate the responses, thank you!

Kinda confirms how I felt about the kit I put on the Audi.

Cheers!

Fitted the very same set to my e53 a year ago with no problems at all.
I don't do big miles so will last some years as said.

Got my kit from B&B in Maidstone, they are a Meyle HD distributor, they also sell on eBay but if you phone them up you might get a deal. Plenty of folk have fitted the cheapest copies from China with no problems but I also came across tales of some of those components feeling loose before they were fitted! These allegedly have a 4 year guarantee.
