Ghost Town!

Post by X5Sport » Sun Jul 08, 2018 6:07 pm

I know there was a footy match yesterday and some sort of motor race in the UK this afternoon, so some in here may be nursing sore heads but even so the tumbleweed is definitely blowing around the site today.....

So what is everyone up to?

I’ve been gardening - until it got too damned hot!

Hi

I was glued to the TV watching and celebrating England winning against Sweden. The mrs went into town at that point and apart from the pubs there were very few people about.

And also I watched  the Russia v Croatia game last night

Today it was a slow start as last night as mrs playing at a ceilidh (folk dancing) so as it was hot this morning I tried the Carly app on the car but that won't switch the exhaust flaps open as it said on the spec. After that I just cleaned the alloy wheels and polished the chrome tips on the exhausts on the X5. But it was too hot and sunny to wash the cars.

Since the Grand Prix was on we went out for lunch with mother in law, as my farther in law was playing a jazz gig today. When we came out of the restaurant about 245pm the car read 42 degrees,

After the hosepipe bans of a few years back, and the incredibly hard water we have here (TDS >500ppm) I bought a rain butt and put it out front.  Holds 210L which washes three/four cars with a jet wash.

I expect we’ll have a ban in the East shortly, and with no rain, the butt is looking a little on the dry side so I know how you feel.....  :(
