X5 40d 2010 option codes
Re: X5 40d 2010 option codes
P330a was standard as the cars had sports suspension fitted. Air susp was not standard on the X6.
S563a was standard as far as I remember and was the Xenon headlights. If it wasn’t those then is might have been extra interior lights and LEDs on the door handles outside.
S840a was use of 3G data for the telematics/internet access - requires an active annual subscription after 3 years..
S852a was standard in the UK. It’s the car alarm.

Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.

Hi
Can anyone help me decipher some of the options on my new used x drive 40d?
Code s840a high speed synchronisation

Option Code "S840a high speed SYNCHRONISATION" is the code for increased top speed limiter..it usually comes with a sport pkg or some type of suspension upgrade that can facilitate higher speeds. I've never seen where it meant anything to do with 3G data...perhaps that code is being used on new BMWs that have wifi hotspot options? BMW has used the same option code for different options in the past...but that is only the "Sxxxa" code number...but the wording after the code will be different. I will confess that I haven't researched what the option code for wifi hotspot is...but high speed synchronisation refers to an increased top speed limit.

Interesting, my Dealer told me it was for a 3G on board sim. In which case WTH is it synchronising when at high speed?

Looking at the 2nd definition of "synchronize" (the US English spelling )
to cause to go on, move, operate, work, etc., at the same rate and exactly together: They synchronized their steps and walked on together.
...assuming that the smashing of the accelerator pedal to the floor would be synchronized with throttle to reach the maximum 155 MPH speed limit...instead of "limiting" it to 130 MPH without the option.
Without the option, when you smash the accelerator to the floor...there is a slight difference in what the accelerator is doing and what the throttle is doing (being limited).
