Battery

Post by henrym3 » Sun Jun 17, 2018 8:58 pm

I’m taking advantage of the knowledge on here to ask why the battery on my M3 will last for over a week and still show 12.4v then within 2 hours will be on 6v and dropping. Charges up fine. Parked with alarm on it’s drawing .02. It is over 4 years old. Assume I need a new one but why that pattern

Internal battery cell failure would be the norm for this type of drop.

Put the last 7 characters of your VIN into Realoem and it will bring up the right model, then go looking under Vehicle Electrical System  :)

NOTE: You will need to change the Realoem Catalog from ‘Current’ to ‘Classic’ to pull up an E30  :D

Hi

For the. X5's we usually say the Bosch S5 and probably worth looking on Euro Car Parts website also as they have keen prices and sometimes discount codes.

So again it may be worth checking them out to see if you can get a good battery for the M3, which by the way in my opinion is a cool car  ;)
