Hi and help

Post by Mcmadjock » Wed Jun 13, 2018 11:48 am

Hi Everyone.

Second time round for me having previously had an X5 4.6is.

I’ve now got myself a 65 plate X5M which I’ve had for about 3 months now. It’s done 42k.

I got new tyres fitted yesterday and the technician noticed that there was an issue with the front near side CV rubber.
I’ve gone out this morning to have a look and noticed that the rubber seems to have deformed and as a result two holes have appeared in it. It has thrown CV grease all over the rim and the suspension arms.
My main question is will this be covered under BMW warranty as it’s still in date or will they try to fob me off saying it’s fair wear and tear

I’d imagine that anything that throws grease all over the wheels on a £100k car still in warranty should certainly be covered under warranty.

Well i took the car to BMW in Tunbridge Wells. They couldnt have been more helpful. I was due to go on a trip to Scotland for a week and they advised the car didnt get used. They sorted me out a courtesy car. I got a brand new 320d and put over 1800 miles on it. Returned it a week later and got my car back fixed. Having previously had warranty claims on previous cars and arguing about costs, I was pleasantly surprised
