Battery change and registration??

Post by svvg » Fri Jun 08, 2018 11:54 am

Bit of research seems to suggest that either the Bosch S5 019 (100Ah and 830CCA) or Yamusa equivalent battery (100Ah and 900CCA) are the way to go?

And does anyone know whether the batteries need to be coded/registered - like on the E90s - or are they simple plug and play?

Many thanks!

Plug & Play.  E53s are mercifully simple to work with.  Worth checking whether you have an AGM battery in the car though.  Not all E53s did however my MY2005 did due to the spec.

Remember to refit the vent tube though (it takes explosive charging gases overboard).  :)

Great - thanks. What do you reckon on my battery options above - it’s a 4.8 so has all the electric options... I there’s a Varta in there at the mo.
