PAG oil

Post by henrym3 » Tue Jun 05, 2018 8:26 pm

Does anyone know how to clean up/remove PAG oil stains on bodywork. Is there some magic solution?

Try some Autosmart Tardis....
Whilst trade branding it’s probably one of the strongest, though most solvent based cleaners should work, though these will remove any protection on the bodywork so will require rinsing and repolish / sealing....

The “tardis” arrived but it’s ineffective, still it will be handy to have. Back to the drawing board.

Henrym3

For what it’s worth and not knowing how bad the stains are, have you tried a good quality panel wipe, type used in spray shops for Bodyshop repairs?

Failing that I have used old fashioned cellulose paint thinners, it wAs fine on my car paintwork but I worked quickly and patch tested first, definitely more concentrated than panel wipe.

As a fallback, or safer first try, have you tried G3 fine cutting compound, then re wax and polish.

Hope this might help

Thanks for that, have some G10 in garage bit less harsh but would give an idea.
