Tailgate doesn’t sound usual bmw quality

When you close the tailgate it doesn’t sound quality is this the norm.
Unfortunately the original owner didn’t tick the powered tailgate option

I have the non powered version too. Doesn't sound too bad....
What does yours sound like?
Maybe your struts are worn?

I've just noticed that mine doesn't sound very good either it's metallic sound like something is catching on the latch. Haven't taken a closer look yet but it wouldn't think it's normal.

No strut issues just must be the norm

It's not normal, I've had a look at mine and a fuse for motor that pulls it in has blown. Check yours it's on offside behind cover.

Having just swapped the numberplates on mine, I'm more concerned about the bubbles of rust behind them... Coming from the inside...
