Retrofitting Surround View?

Following on from another thread that went slightly off topic (my fault), I thought it best to create a new thread.

So, I'm looking into the possibility of fitting Surround View to a F15 M50d. I've researched across the interwebs and the nearest hit is fitting an Alpine system to an E70. Doesn't look like they make one for the F15, yet.

Now, I've found two sellers on eBay shifting all the necessary hardware and both reckon it can all be retrofitted, just need a specialist garage to do it all.

Has anyone done this before or even considered it?
I have no problem with most of the hardware stuff, would just need some help with the electrical and coding.
If there's anyone else keen to do this, we could tackle this together as nice little project  ;)

Does your car have the backup camera? I am happy to have the surround view and it is a cool feature but in fairness I would not consider what must be a very involved retrofit (new mirrors with cameras, cameras in the front fenders and camera between the front grilles + coding), as in reality the backup camera is sufficient 95 % of the time.

Hmmm... I could possibly be persuaded, but it would depend on cost (obviously).
