Anyone fitted one of these to their 50d? I had a chip express one on my 520d f10 and it changed the car...

Me thinks I may try one..

Will that make it sound more beefy?
How much?

Lol you need to code that, which I've done. It's a bit more torque I want in 1st and 2nd.

Chip express claim 989nm of torque and 462 ps on highest setting!

£395

Need to watch the torque converter and gearbox with that much as it may exceed their limits.

Chips give you a generic power gain. There not ideal as what your looking for is your throttle curves to be Linear and smooth power giving you aggressive torque .

You've got a nice car why use a tuning box over a proper tine tested on the car and many 50ds, correctly tuned by an expert. Far more rewarding, safe for the car and performance is great .

1st & 2nd gear have Tourqe restrictions in this area to protect the gear box, so even tuned you will see the loss there .

I've sent the box back Anth, could  feel a difference but not enough for £400. How much are these DMS remaps and do they cover Lincolnshire?

May I ask how you coded the more beefy sound? Assuming it's internal speaker acoustics???

Correct, it's the internal speaker system which can be coded either with BimmerCode or E-Sys.

More details on the coding thread here.

Thank you.
I’ve already got BimmerCode used on my i3 so will give these a go when my F15 arrives next month.

Give them a call Poolie, Difrence is night and day. M50D 1st & 2nd isn’t great due to restrictions as mentioned, DMS will make the car much more entertainment to drive .

All the best with it

They persuaded me to try a pedal box. Although it gives no extra power it has changed the car takes away the lag. Chuffed with it.
