X5 - E70 - 3rd row vents.

Hi,

I have a question if something I'm thinking of is possible.
We have E70 from 2011, it's a 5seater.
Have anyone modified the back vents (pointed on the image) to actually work - is there a way to connect them somehow??
Reason I'm asking is we have 2 dogs (huskies) and at the moment only way to get them nice cold air is from the 2nd row middle console - but if we could somehow use the side vents in the boot that would be much better.

At a guess you will need this lot:

The Parts Database doesn’t show anything connected to those upper vents at all so they could be exhausts to take cabin air and feed it through the trim to the exit ports in the rear floor/inner wing area?  There are usually some king of flaps that exhaust air out of the cabin.
