Injector leak off pipe

I had a small leak on one of the injector leak off pipes so i ordered some new pipe.
Went to change it today and the new pipe leaks as well.
It is 3/8 pipe a standard size i thought but it was weeping where it pushes onto the injector.
All i had to do the job now was some silicone pipe thick stuff but a nice fit and no leaks.
My question is.
Is this silicone vac pipe ok to use on the injectors ?.
Anybody got a link to some normal pipe slightly smaller than 3/8 if that is possible.

I once attended a breakdown on a diesel powered piece of plant that had a diesel leak between the lift pump to the injector pump ( low pressure ) side. I was in the middle of no where.!
I inserted a plastic biro pen tube to get them up and running.
24 hours later was called back as the plastic had dissolved with the diesel. ( obviously oil based plastic )
As long as silicone is not oil based, it maybe a good fix.

Thanks for the reply.
I don't understand why the proper stuff doesn't fit.
Will be getting new "T" pieces and pipe new "R" clips and doing the lot all new should fit properly i hope.
