3.0d how many litres for oil change and 5w-40 any good?

Tesco have castrol edge 5w-40 4 litres half price at £22

Is this anygood for a 100k mile 3.0d?
I’ve been using castrol edge 5w-30

Also can you remind me how many litres required?

Does it meet the BMW LL04 & ACEA C3 spec?  Normally LL04 is 0w30 or 5w30.

You’ll need two containers to do a full change.  Somewhere around 7 litres from memory.

Just picked up 2 x 4l 5w30 LL castrol edge titanium , which is to spec and what I’ve used

£24.50 each, so £50 for 8 litres is good value imo
