Low battery warning since fitting dashcam

Post by RichM50d » Mon Apr 02, 2018 11:01 am

Ever since getting the dashcam fitted (with external power pack), if he car sits for more than a day, I get the low battery warning come up.

The car has been in to 2 dealers, both left it on charge overnight, and one updated the software, so said it was all sorted, and that the battery is fine.

Yesterday when I started the car, I got the warning again.

Has anyone else experienced this? The dashcam is a Blackvue DR750.

Can't say I have had a problem with mine since I first installed a year ago.
How is yours connected?
Mine is plugged into the rear boot socket. Once the car is locked power is turned off - I think?

I’ve got the additional battery pack, which powers the dashcam once the car battery drops to a certain level. It seems that some settings need tweaking on the Blackvue battery pack, but they said there’s no option to.

My Thinkware used to trigger this in the X5 but oddly never had a problem with any other car before or since.

I resolved it by adjusting the cut off to 12.2V (from 12.1v) and auto turn off after 12 hours. If the Blackview doesn't have these options you may be in trouble  8)

It’s going in to the Blackvue dealer today for them to have a look at.

So the car went in yesterday and they’ve removed the additional power pack. If no errors, we’ll know that was faulty and they swap it out. If the error comes up, the camera is faulty.

Will report back next week.

It must be the power magic pro, as the low battery warning hasn’t come on since they disconnected it. They said there’s also a battery pack that Blackvue make, but I thought that was the whole point of the PMP???
