Well it's that time already as I've had the car X5 for two years and not really done that much mileage so far, but enjoyed driving it every time. The car came with a 2 year BMW warranty provided and is due for renewal in April.
Given the complexity of the car with all the electrics and sensors I decided to go for a warranty without question.
I have had several aftermarket ones on previous cars, including the AA, and they all end up arguing about the repair as to what is and what isn't covered, which can be a pain. So I chose to go with BMW again as it probably the best on the market especially from reading Condors posts on her 4.8i on how good it's been.
I went for the comprehensive cover, so covering both mechanical and electrical items for £1,002 with an excess of £100 which was less that I thought it would be when looking at previous posts on the subject. The no excess policy was another £400 on top and I really couldn't justify that difference.
So hopefully I won't need it, but if I do I have that peace of mind, so it's happy motoring. I just have to get the MoT on the Thursday and the Road Tax at the end of this month.
Since renewing the warranty I then had a call from BMW asking if I'm interested in a new X5, which is probably no now, but you never know
