Gave the beast a good clean today after all the salt on those very snowy roads these last 2 weeks.
So she is looking the part now!
However I noticed that the black paint on the bottom of the exhaust tips has peeled off exposing the chrome underneath
Is this something other people have had issues with or have I a one off that needs to be rectified under warranty :'( I'm sure its down to all the salt on the roads but is this a warranty issue?
Car is a little under a year old and appeared on the right tip - photos below.

Get it in to bmw under warranty. If mine do that, that’s what I’ll be doing.

Hmmm. Not good. Hopefully a warranty fix as suggested.

Wonder if the paint warranty pick it up? Not a expensive fix either way . My RS6 did this they went pretty fast, guess it’s just the heat then cooling, paint starts to flake.

What Anth B said ^^
This happened all the time in winter on the range rovers - if BMW refuse under warranty - which they should not as it is under paint warranty limit - you can go to a local body shop and they can re paint in much tougher paint for not a lot of money

So my car had its first service last week and under warranty had the rear tips replaced due to them starting to loose the black finish and the chrome coming through around the inside edges. As the tips are welded to the exhaust meant that the whole rear exhaust had to be replaced :'(
Anyway had a nice 420i convertible loaner from BMW Sytner for two days which I enjoyed. However being over 6ft tall and with a low platform and low door head, it was a pain to get in and out of especially on the back >:( Good fun though!

Prompted by this thread I had a closer look at my tips and sure enough they're starting to corrode exactly as in the photos above. Its booked in next week for back box swap under warranty, no quibble at all
