Looking for a E53 4.8is is anyone selling
Would prefer a low mileage car and preferably not black
Ideal colour is Imola Red but that maybe dreaming
I owned one a few years ago and despite the issues and costs have missed it.

I know ther is one for the collectors out there as is on eBay and pistonheads with only 14k miles but it’s up for silly money over £20k

There are the odd one or two about but getting rarer

Right colour, but it is high mileage.
Would need to be cheap to cover the risk.
I’m keeping an eye on a couple on EBay, Gumtree and Autotrader

Although the one up at 21k is ideal just a little out of my price range

I think. That one is out of the price range of most and  the person is way over on the price.

You can definitely get a good car but it takes time to find them and as you say you need a reserve to cover any repairs as these cars can costs bit to fix.

It looks good in sterling grey, and good mileage, it's worth having a read of the buyers guide in the E53

It's worth check the tyres outsides on the front and the insides edges on the rears as it sits down, as therrears are315/35/20 and can cost a bit to replace.

Also Remember to check all the electrics more than once esp if it has a panoramic sunroof as they have a habit of catching on the rear section as well as the windows mirrors folding mirrors aircon etc.

And the 4.8i will have Air Suspension on front of it and worth pressing the check control on the dash pod to see if all okay or if any issues Ile susp inacive etc the reason is it can cost a bit to fix.

Correction Graeme, faulty air suspension on the 4.8 costs a LOT to fix!

Looking at the photos of the grey car it seems to have had the air suspension removed
There’s a blanking panel were the air suspension control should be.

From the pics  the car looked okay, but from the their reviews I read weren't great

No I didn’t get to see it, spoke to them about it

Looked at a couple but no good, one tatty and the other smoking a little I thought stem seals.

A couple of members have talked about selling cars but have heard nothing back from them.

I’ve started toying with the idea of a Range Rover sport 4.2 supercharged or a TDV8 3.6, reliability worries me though.

I only use the car for weekends so 2/3k per year as I have a company car so fuel costs not really an issue.

I've owned one since 2009 and it had only one private owner + bmw before that. Although it's black but not typical flat black, it's a two tone and looks more like dark blue. Mileage is about 117k but with a thick folder of history and fully maintained BMW stamped service book. Original as it came out of the factory and all electrics fully working incl. pan roof and air suspension.

Worth viewing to be appreciated.
