Let us know what year and model X you have as a lot depends on that. What "tricks" do you want to get up to with your satnav - I just use mine for getting me from one address to another!!!!
It looks as if you have a headrest system fitted - the TV button is likely to be for that.
Enjoy your X!

Yes
the wires will need routing into the boot area to the tv module and the you will need an av input/output lead to plug into the tv module like this or similar ....
http://www.toysinyourcar.com/acatalog/bmw_av.html
this will then give you picture on the rear screens and sound through the car speakers (mono only).

You have two otions:
1. Cable from toysinyourcar that gets connected in-line between the TV Module connector or
2. Via software (a better option) and potentially free if you can get someone with a resler and navcoder to help you out or at the next meet Jason will do it for you (for free)

Most meets have been in Bristol but if one is organised further North, that's all good.
Members come with the software and resler. But you may be able to organise for one to be sent to you by a kind member. The problem will be the software (free to download) but you then need the key (which is charged and locked to your PC).
